What is clear is that by allowing me to concentrate on the braking going in to a bend and staying flat on the throttle while upshifting, I gained between 0.5 and 1.0 secs per 30 secs of the average sprint or hill climb. In the new Force, I run the latest Flatshifter Expert operated through a conventional gear stick and rod linkage We had an initial problem that was traced to somebody having reversed the polarity while it was out of our hands supposedly being integrated with the ECU. Customer service was fantastic during this difficult time with John spending hours on the phone doing diagnostics while we were at the track, re-building and testing the system over the weekend and generally being available whenever we needed him to advise. The new system puts the old one in the shade, the upshift is so quick and smooth (soft restore) that initially I had to check the GPI to believe that I'd actually made a change and the downshift has got a lovely positive blip just like a PDK to drive. Hi Graham Picked up the flatshifter at the post office at 6 pm today, Monday. After dinner and putting the kids to bed I went out to the garage and started the installation at 8.30 pm. At midnight I came into the house after a 20 km test-drive with the flatshifter!! Very easy install and impressive results with the system right out of the box, no adjustments. Very pleased indeed. The only negative comment is that the supplied adaptor for the vacuum feed from the intake had a M 5 thread and the R 1 engine has M 6 threads, but that didn't matter since I had correct fitment lying in the garage Overall very pleased and now its time to go to bed with a smile on my face.. One of this years upgrades is a Flatshifter Expert system that makes it possible to do clutchless up and downshifts. It kills the ignition on upshift and blips the throttle during downshift. It is a great piece of kit, more or less just plug and play. Some of the advantage is quicker shifting, saving the clutch and gearbox and most of all the shifting is so smooth that if you change gear thru a long corner, the car doesn't "jump away" from you This was also the first drive with the Flatshifter and it worked perfect. Hi Graham, No i have not won. this was only my third meeting racing on the tar ever and only the second in this car so im very happy.the shifter made a huge difference it was fast and easy to change gears and the down shift well what can i say unbelievable. Good day Graham, Just to say a big WELL DONE. We tested the flat shifter on a circuit yesterday and everybody that was there stood there with their mouths open. Josh was delighted with it. He did some 15 laps, really putting it through it's paces and the gear changes, both up and down were absolutely faultless, even on the standard settings you suggested. He now needs to do more mileage simply to get used to the two pedal arrangement and left foot braking. I've got a feeling we can sell a few, both here and in Italy. We leave for a hill climb in Italy in just over a week's time so we are trying to get as much practice in as possible before that, in fact we will be at the circuit again tomorrow evening for a couple of hours, where he'll be just bashing round to get used to it. I've put a gash set of tyres on the car so he can burn them up to his heart's content !!!!!!!!!! Thanks again for all your help.
